Does flashing the high-beam headlights of a car change the light?

It seems that when you rapidly flash the high beams when coming near a red light it changes to green within a few seconds. Would it work like how ambulances change the lights? What do ambulances use?Does flashing the high-beam headlights of a car change the light?
Ive seen police do it and I have tried. Typically at night when its late and no one is around the light will change right away anyhow.. I don't think i works. Plus i heard you can get a ticket.Does flashing the high-beam headlights of a car change the light?
I don't think so. Some lights operate on pressure sensors and they are usually programed to change quicker later at night when your probably doing this. As far as ambulances go here they just blow through the red light.
Well that's supposedly how the older traffic lights used to work, you could flash your high beams repeatedly and the light would change to green. Most new traffic lights don't work like that anymore though, and for the ones that are still controlled by flashes, it will only work with the flashing lights of an emergency vehicle, which is fast enough that the average driver wouldn't be able to duplicate it exactly with flashing the high beams. I'm sure pretty sure most new traffic lights are equipped with sensors, which can be changed by an emergency vehicle sending out a signal from the vehicle itself, so the flashing lights thing won't work in most areas anymore. By the way, if the flashing lights thing does work, and you keep trying it, and one day a cop sees you and notices what your doing, you'll likely be in for a heavy fine!
once upon a time traffic lights did have a sensor on them to tell when aa automobile was pointing at it and flashing your lights would trigger it but new technology has become available. the light is now triggered by pressure or magnetic sensitive strips placed in the road. Notice the lines cut into the asphalt right before a red light. thats the strips. Ambulances don't use anythig to trip a light
