thank youHow to change car ac oil?
Changing from R12 to R134a is very complicated, it requires flushing every component of the system using a special cleaning fluid to remove virtually all of the old oil then the components must be re-assembled using new seals and the expansion valve or orifice must also be replaced with the correct one for R134a.

Servicing the Freon in an Air conditioner requires the use of a refrigerant recovery and charging station to evacuate any air or moisture prior to charging and properly adjust the Freon level and to avoid releasing Freon into the atmosphere when making repairs which require opening the sealed system ?which is prohibited by federal Law due to the adverse effect Freon has on the Ozone in the air which protects everything on earth from excessive solar radiation - A/C service techs take extensive training before they can service systems because they are much more complex than they appear.

This is not a DIY project...

Take it to several shops to get estimates.

On any major repair I recommend that you get 3 or 4 estimates from local service facilities unless you are lucky enough to have a shop with an absolutely stellar reputation available.

Do not overlook auto body shops as sources for this type of job - they deal with damaged A/C systems every day and usually have a higher than average level of skill in servicing A/C systems for this reason.

Compare the estimates and choose one of the middle estimates. My reasoning for this is the low estimate either left something out or worse is deliberately giving a low ball estimate to get you in and then when your car is all torn apart they find all sorts of critically important things wrong with it which run your bill through the roof. Do the leg work and be an informed car owner. No reliable technician or shop will give an estimate for repair site unseen except as a budgetary estimate which will be a range from the middle average to the unusual high end possible. How to change car ac oil?
THIS is a job for a SPECIALIST, not a DIY.

It requires special tools, AND A LICENSE!!

Note that SOME compressors are NOT suitable for the newer refrigerant, and changing them is expensive.
get in car drive to a shop to get it dont right you dont drain it you add it to it and just so you know if you add too much of either and lock your system up coul dcost you more and just so you know that if you have a leak reason its not working and dont fix it your throwing money out window is why most have it repaired right there is so many things to a cars ac system more than just adding coolant get it wrong it cost you
